International Travel
The 91ÆÆ½â°æ encourages and supports its faculty, staff, and students to participate in university-related activities abroad. At the same time, is committed to full compliance with all U.S. federal and state export control laws and regulations. The purpose of our export compliance program, which is managed by the Office of Compliance and Ethics, is to ensure that all academic, research, operational, and business activities align with federal and state regulations.
International travel may be subject to export control regulations due to the physical items, technology, software, and/or technical data being taken out of the U.S. Special considerations may also apply based on the travel destination and activities undertaken during travel. Faculty, staff, students and other personnel traveling on university business or traveling with university property are responsible for complying with all applicable export control laws and regulations when traveling outside the U.S. An export license may be required depending on which items are taken, which countries are visited, or whether defense services are provided to a , as defined under export control laws and regulations. The traveler or the traveler’s supervisor should contact the Export Control Office (exportcontrol@uh.edu) with any export control concerns.
All faculty, staff, students, and other personnel traveling abroad on -sponsored trips, or for any international travel on behalf of , are required to complete an prior to submitting their Concur travel authorization request.
It is essential for travelers to complete the International Travel Export Control form as thoroughly as possible to expedite review and approval of the travel request.
