1. Theft Prevention & Recovery
Registering your bike or scooter helps protect it from theft. If it鈥檚 ever stolen,
the Police Department can use your registration details and sticker ID to help
recover it. This simple step can make a big difference in getting your property back.
2. Campus Safety & Organization
Knowing how many bikes and scooters are on campus helps plan for better parking
and keep walkways clear. Registration supports a safer, more organized environment
for everyone.
3. Access to Secure Parking
Registered bikes can use 鈥檚 high-security Bikeep stations, located at Butler Plaza
and University Lofts. These smart racks offer secure locking and are accessible through
the Go app, giving you peace of mind while you鈥檙e in class or on campus.
4. Community Responsibility
Registering your ride shows you care about the community. It鈥檚 quick, easy, and
free鈥攁nd it helps promote a culture of safety and respect across campus.
How to Register Your Bicycle/Scooter
Visit the Parking and Transportation website to complete your registration. You鈥檒l receive a sticker to place on your bike or scooter, making it easier to identify and protect.
Biketober & Scootober Events
Parking & Transportation will have two bike and scooter focused events to encourage bicycle and scooter registration.
October 14 at Butler Plaza, the department will be handing out candy to anyone who arrives by bike or scooter, along with safety kits as our 鈥渢reats.鈥 These kits will include reflectors, lights, and bells to help keep our riders safe and seen.
In late October, the department will host a Halloween Ride Around Campus. The department invites everyone to dress up and join them for a festive ride around campus. To add to the fun, Parking and Transportation will be awarding $25 in Shasta Bucks to two riders with the funniest, scariest, or most creative costumes.
