The 91ƽ continues its climb in U.S. News & World Report’s latest , distinguishing itself as a national model for how public research universities can advance opportunity through innovation — driving both individual success and societal progress.

In the rankings released Sept. 23, improved six spots to in the U.S., marking a significant step towards its long-term vision of becoming a Top 50 public university. also climbed 12 spots to No. 132 among all universities.

In other key rankings, remains among the nation’s best at opening doors of opportunity to students of all backgrounds and empowering them to succeed, landing at No. 40 in “Top Performers on Social Mobility.” And for the first time, finds itself on the “Most Innovative Schools” list, ranking No. 48. The “Most Innovative Schools” list recognizes institutions that are making the most innovative improvements in areas such as curriculum, faculty, student experience, campus life, technology and facilities.

U.S. News & World Report uses 17 criteria to compile its rankings, including peer assessment, which accounts for 20% of an institution’s overall score. Other key factors in the rankings are graduation rates (16%) and graduation rate performance (10%). ’s six-year graduation rate has been steadily rising in recent years and is now at 65%, which is higher than the state and national average.

The new rankings are further recognition of ’s steady ascent in national prominence, underscoring its growing reputation for student success and as a leading public research institution. In Forbes most recent rankings of “America’s Top Colleges”, rose three spots to No. 43 among public universities and eight spots to No. 107 overall. And ranked No. 42 in Princeton Review’s “Best Value Colleges.” also placed 15 graduate programs in the top 50 of USNWR’s “Best Graduate Schools” rankings, including three in the top 10.
