She relished the opportunity to engage with researchers and faculty, but her greatest passion lay in meeting and mentoring students. She consistently hired students as Congressional interns both in her district and in Washington, D.C., providing them with invaluable experiences. Jackson Lee regularly attended graduations, proudly celebrating the achievements of students.
