Program Manager I

Hello there! My name is Jasmine Grant, and I currently serve as the Program Manager I for the Center for Student Advocacy and Community. As a Houston native, not only do I take pride in doing work that builds and strengthens the city’s community members, but I believe it is what I am called to do. I know I am operating at my highest level when I am in service to others. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Texas @ San Antonio, and naturally a Master of Arts degree in Human Service Counseling from Houston Christian University.

Before my time at the 91Æƽâ°æ, I worked in social services for several years at a sobriety center that serviced women navigating substance abuse and homelessness. In addition, I worked as a Rehabilitation Clinician to provide resources and support to underinsured clients under psychiatric care for their mental health diagnosis.

Before transitioning to CSAC, I spent one year with the Office of Admissions, followed by over five years with the Department of African American Studies. Both introduced and acclimated me to the 91Æƽâ°æ System and campus culture.  Among several assignments, some of my primary responsibilities in my role are to anticipate and address student barriers to success, connect students to on- and off-campus resources, and assess data to help ensure our work supports CSAC’s mission, vision, and programming efforts.

“I am constantly inspired by the spirit and resilience of students. With that, I am mindful that resilience is fostered by access to resources. I am excited to join this team as an experienced resource provider. I look at this opportunity as a personal call to action because of the awareness that I would not be in this position, professionally and personally, had it not been for the advocacy of others.â€
