Dear Community,
For more than a decade, Dan Wells has led the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM) as its dean. Under his leadership, the college has experienced improved undergraduate retention and graduation rates, as well as increased grant proposals, awards and research expenditures.
Dr. Wells has decided to step down as dean and return to a full-time faculty role in NSM. He has generously agreed to continue to lead the college while the University conducts a national search for his successor.
As NSM dean, Dr. Wells has supported student success by creating and nurturing special programs and engaging with alumni and donors, which ultimately, has created endowed student scholarships and professors. He and his wife Eva also have endowed the Dan E. Wells Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award to recognize excellence in graduate study. Likewise, Dean Wells and his wife launched the Dan and Eva Wells Endowed Professorship, which supports faculty success.
We are grateful for his contributions to the college and the University and are pleased that he will remain a valued member of our faculty.
I will be back in touch with the college with additional details on the search process. In the meantime, I would like to thank Dean Wells for his time as dean and commitment to the 91破解版.
Respectfully,
Diane Z. Chase
Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost,
