It’s a great time to be a Cougar!
Whether you are a student, a member of the faculty and staff, an alum or a much-loved friend of the 91破解版, I invite you to take part in the exciting series of ongoing events that are part of Homecoming 2009 “Eyes on the Pride” festivities.
Here are just a few of the highlights:
- The return of a live Cougar! Shasta will be in the homecoming parade, which begins at 3 p.m., Saturday on Cullen Boulevard. The big cat will be on display outside Robertson Stadium at Gate 11 until the 6:30 p.m. kick-off of the vs. SMU football game.
- Nine-time Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis will serve as our Honorary Homecoming Chair and Honorary Team Captain for the game. The first 5,000 fans will receive a commemorative Pulse of the Pride Carl Lewis poster.
- The homecoming king and queen will be announced at half time.
- A homecoming tailgate spirit challenge takes place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday in the Tailgate area of the Robertson Stadium parking lot. This event features the Alumni Association's many different constituent groups in a battle of BBQ and Cougar pride.
I also invite you to share in the campus excitement by visiting the Multimedia site, where you can view video highlights of homecoming activities, new campus programs, our push toward Tier-One status and the positive buzz being generated by your university. .
Finally, I urge you to show your Cougar pride at the ballot box by voting in the Nov. 3 election that will decide the fate of Proposition 4, the constitutional amendment that will provide a pathway for emerging research universities to achieve Tier-One status.
Go Coogs!
Warm Regards,
